They say home is where the heart is, but, sometimes, an already built, already lived-in home may not deliver everything your heart desires. The advantages of building over buying are significant. If you’re still on the fence, consider these benefits.
Ability to Customize the Floor Plan
When you order a new home construction that takes shape from the ground up, you have much more opportunity to customize it. Want that bonus room? It’s yours. Prefer green building materials? That’s possible, too. You’ll work closely with your architect and remodeling contractors during a new home construction to design the perfect home that fits your family’s needs.
No Bidding Wars
You’ll have a concrete plan already in place when building a new house. Therefore, you won’t have the worry of being outbid. There’s no competition, and you’ll already have your budget, more or less. As a result, you’ll know ahead of time what it’s all going to cost.
Use of New, Energy-Efficient Materials and Techniques
New homes must be built to strict codes, and these codes take things like energy efficiency very seriously. Your new home construction will cost less to heat and cool than an older home might. Additionally, everything will be new, from your furnace to your plumbing, meaning you’ll have fewer upkeep costs for at least the first several years.
While you’ll have a set budget, home construction often encounters unforeseen situations. For instance, it may cost more to drill your well than you budgeted for if you’re building on solid rock. Equipment breaks down occasionally, too, which may cause costly delays. Using a licensed and experienced home builders such as KIND Construction will help to keep unexpected expenses low.
Our home designer works with you to pick the floor plan and home style that best suits you and your lifestyle. From here, we will draft the initial designs and blueprints, and then obtain the necessary permits to get started with the project.
Site demolition and excavation involve removing any element in the way of the planned structure, including existing vegetation and structures. During excavation, the ground will be properly graded in preparation for the new materials.
The foundation goes in place as the first element of the new home construction. This support system for the new structure may be a solid slab or blocked, depending on the situation. Once the foundation is complete, we begin the framing process, which includes building interior walls, exterior walls, and roof trusses, and enclosing the framing with sheeting.
With the primary frame of the home done, our first objective is to get a roof in place to protect everything. So, at this point in the build, we install the chosen roofing materials, as well as other elements of rooftop protection, such as vents and gutter systems.
Windows and doors are often installed at this point in the new home construction process. From entry and exit doors to decorative and functional windows, these pieces will be installed before we move on to the rest of the finish work.
Rough plumbing, electrical, and mechanical elements are installed at this point. We will install wiring in the walls and floors, route plumbing and septic lines to the proper rooms, and handle all other mechanical aspects of the build.
Insulation goes into the outer and some interior walls at this point. Depending on your preferences, we may use standard rolled insulation, blow-in insulation, or even spray foam insulation to make the home as efficient as possible.
After insulation, we get to work with the wall finishing inside the house. Drywall is hung on the walls and ceilings throughout the structure to enclose each room, the walls are then primed, and interior painting is finished.
Here, we move on to finishing the exterior of the home. Stucco or other siding materials are installed, exterior trim work is primed and painted, and other aspects of the exterior of the project are completed.
Cement and tile work is tackled at this point in the project. From hardscaping outside like the driveway and walkways to tile installation indoors, we wrap up each aspect of this area before moving on to other finishing processes.
With much of the exterior finished and the floorplan, walls, and mechanical elements in place, we get started on the flooring. From wood flooring and laminate to carpet and vinyl, our team brings each room to life with the flooring you have chosen.
Cabinetry for the kitchen, countertops, appliances, sinks, and other fixtures and features are the finishing touches to the new structure. We add the final elements, room by room, until each area is complete.
Our home remodels begin with a 3D design and rendering in which we create an image of what your new home will look like. A big plus is that this design is created in three dimensions, making it more lifelike. If you want to alter any component of the design, let our construction company know during the design and rendering stage and we will make the necessary changes to make your vision a reality. Upon completing the design stage, we provide our clients with a shopping list for all of the finished materials they will need to purchase for their upcoming home remodel. This approach a smooth and seamless experience throughout the entire home renovation process.

Insulation is the next step in the process of home remodeling, although it is not always required. The building code states that insulation should be added onto exterior walls only. Therefore, we only add insulation when we completely redo a kitchen or bathroom and open all walls. If we just replace cabinets or focus on a basic facelift, there is no requirement to change or add insulation.
The next step is the installation of flooring. Flooring is an important component of home remodels, mainly because it is one of the largest parts of the house. The look and feel of your flooring plays a major role in how much you enjoy the currently as well as far into the future. Our home remodeling company pay close attention to even the smallest details throughout the critical flooring installation process, even the slightest mistake has the potential to ruin the best of home remodels.
